Alpine A290 HMI

Alpine A290 HMI Details
The Alpine A290’s interior takes heavy inspiration from the upcoming Renault 5, including the same 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment setup sitting in the centre of the dash, albeit skinned with Alpine’s own unique graphics, with the digital interface itself packed with playful French flair, with mountain-shaped icons and bold typefaces. It’s all very Alpine.
In front of the driver sits a chunky, motorsport-style steering wheel that contains a red "Overtake" button that delivers a short boost of extra power.
The A290’s Alpine Telemetrics system provides plenty of data: live metrics on G forces, power usage, and tire temperatures, all of which sync to your Alpine Telemetrics smartphone app to overlay performance stats on your track day footage.
Coaching mode offers a virtual driving school, covering everything from throttle control to drifting techniques, complete with stylised animations and useful tips to keep you engaged.
Finally, Challenges mode, for full gamification of the driving experience - offers a series of road and track-focused challenges around your driving, from performance-based ones for acceleration, braking, and cornering, to efficiency-based ‘Endurance’ challenges. The A290 wants to turn you into a faster and better driver, in general but of EVs specifically. So, is it gimmicky, yup, is it fun, absolutely it is!
